Pink furry Benefit flowers against a blue sky, from the World of BADgal Bounce

Industries2 case studies

Beauty & lifestyleA new launch, in a world that's already yours.

Premium brands arrive with a look their audience knows on sight: the colours, the characters, the way the product is shown. We extend it into the launch, and every frame still looks unmistakably like you.

01The problem

The brand is approved. The campaign isn't built yet.

In beauty and lifestyle the identity does real commercial work, and that makes it a constraint. New content has to feel inventive and still look exactly like the brand, down to the pink.

Often one product also has to speak to very different customers, on shopping centre screens, product pages and feeds, without the idea thinning out along the way.

03How we work

Extend the look, never replace it

  1. 01

    Write down what can't move

Product proportions, packaging, mascot form and texture, the palette, approved type. Knowing the fixed points is what makes it safe to experiment everywhere else.

  2. 02

    Give it a world

A place with its own logic, where the brand's characters and products have somewhere to go, so the film reads as a story rather than a run of pretty frames.

  3. 03

    Turn customers into characters

Each persona is built from a real reason to buy, so one product can answer several kinds of customer.

  4. 04

    Finish for every placement

Composition, framing and motion reworked per placement, so a shopping centre screen and a product page each get something built for them.

05Questions

Common questions

Can you use our existing 3D assets and mascots?

Yes, exactly as approved. Benefit's mascots and product renders went in unchanged; the world was built to fit them, never the other way around.

Will the product look right?

It's the first thing we check. Product, pack and character are judged against the approved asset, not against how good the frame looks on its own.

Can one campaign speak to different customers?

Yes. Sheridan's Custom Comfort built each character from a sleep profile, so one quilt could answer several kinds of sleeper.

Do you replace our 3D or retouching team?

No. We sit alongside them. Where something needs the control of traditional 3D it stays there, and we build around it.

How much comes out of one launch?

As much as the plan needs. Sheridan's campaign ran to more than 40 assets; Benefit's was one hero film. Both came out of a single connected world.
