AI could change the very nature of graphic design. It’s not hard to imagine that a machine-learning algorithm might one day generate a logo or create an app icon just as well as, if not better than, any human designer. But AI won’t replace graphic designers; instead, it will redefine how we think about their work.

AI could change our understanding of creativity and communication in other ways too: for example by helping us understand how people communicate through visual language and by bringing new insights into what constitutes good design. Most importantly, AI will allow us to ask questions about art itself—about what makes something beautiful and why some images speak to us while others do not?

There’s no doubt that AI is going to be a huge part of graphic design in the future. It has already changed the game for many designers and will continue to do so as it evolves. It also means they can simply become more efficient with their own designs thanks to machine learning algorithms helping them out along the way.
