These rules apply to all editions of The AI Video Academy Awards and may be updated over time.

Please review them before submitting.

Who can enter?

  • Both individual creators and teams are eligible.

  • Open to people from all countries.

Mandatory AI use

  • Your video must include clear, meaningful use of AI — in visuals, audio, storytelling, or post-production.

  • The core visuals must be generated or significantly enhanced using AI tools.

  • Traditional filmmaking techniques (like editing or compositing) are welcome — but AI must be the creative focal point.

  • If it’s not obvious how AI was used, we may request a brief explanation or proof of process.

Rights & Permissions

  • By submitting, you confirm the work is your own and you have the rights to all included content.

  • You retain full ownership of your submission. By entering, you give us permission to showcase your work for promotion of the awards, with credit.

Prizes

  • Winners will receive gear, tools, features, or other creative prizes — with details announced each round.

Submission Guidelines

  • Video Length: Submissions must be at least 30 seconds long.
There’s no maximum time limit — tell your story at your own pace.

  • Entry Limit: You may submit up to 3 entries per round, each must be a different project.

  • Format: Submit your film as a 1080p or higher MP4/MOV file, with English subtitles if your film uses another language.

Judging Criteria

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges based on storytelling, originality, and innovative use of AI.

Submissions will be evaluated across the following criteria:

  • Creativity & Originality
Does the entry present a fresh idea, concept, or artistic approach?

  • AI Integration
Is AI used in an intentional, innovative, and meaningful way?

  • Storytelling Impact
Is there a compelling narrative or emotional arc that holds attention?

  • Technical Execution
How strong is the visual polish, pacing, sound design, and overall craft?

  • Overall Impression
Does the piece stand out? Is it memorable, thought-provoking, or surprising?

Social Sharing

  • You’re encouraged to share your film on social media and tag @Absolutely.AI (Instagram)

  • Sharing the hashtag #AIVideoAcademyAwards will help your work get seen.

Questions & Disputes

  • If your submission looks like it might not meet the criteria, we may ask for a quick explanation or proof of how AI was used.

  • Final decisions are up to the judges — but we’re all about supporting creativity, not catching anyone out.

  • If something’s unclear or doesn’t quite fit the rules, don’t stress — we’re here to help. Just email us at contact@absolutelyai.com.au and we’ll talk it through.
